Yeungnam University (President CHOI Oe-chool) hosted the 'Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Innovation Industry-Academia HR Forum' to foster networks with regional innovation leaders and to boost employment opportunities.

The forum took place on July 25 at LEE Si-won Global Convention Hall of YU Cheonma Art Center, co-organized by the University Job Plus Center and the RIS Future Car Conversion Parts Project Group. Over 50 HR professionals from leading local companies participated in the event.

The forum featured various sessions, including:

▲ An introduction to YU’s employment support and industry-academia collaboration programs

▲ Sharing of recent HR issues, trends, and best practices in talent development

▲ Regional innovation industry-academia exchanges in Daegu and Gyeongbuk

▲ A roundtable discussion on promoting youth employment Notably, the event included a presentation by KAIST Professor KIM Dae-shik on "Changes and Opportunities in the Era of Generative AI" and a special lecture by Twonhalf Consulting CEO KIM Jong-gu on "Smart Work Using Generative AI," which garnered significant attention from attendees.

President CHOI Oe-chool of YU remarked, "We organized this forum to establish networks with local companies and to create a platform for industry-academia exchange and cooperation. I hope this event provides an opportunity to nurture talent that meets regional industry demands and to develop strategies for enhancing youth employment. Building on the forum's outcomes, we will develop YU's unique employment programs to actively support our students.  Additionally, we will strive for the final selection in the Glocal University 30 project, establishing a successful model of university-regional synergy and development."

Following this initial forum, YU plans to hold a second forum in August focused on labor relations, workplace harassment, and sexual harassment response strategies. A third forum is scheduled for October, centered on talent development cases and education systems from local leading companies. The final fourth forum in November will include special lectures on successful organizational culture, workplace stress management, and an industry-academia exchange meeting with local businesses.
